Per the website of the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, a small taxing unit is exempt from the notice and publication requirements of Tax Code Section 26.04(e) that are applicable to larger taxing units. A small taxing unit may instead provide a simplified notice of its proposed tax rate that includes the information specified in Tax Code Section 26.052(e).
